Compassionate Therapy that Transforms Your

Relationship with Food and Your Body

You Can Overcome Eating Disorders

You Deserve a Life of Peace and Freedom

In a world where conflicting messages about food, our bodies, and health are constant, navigating recovery from an eating disorder can feel like being trapped in a relentless maze. No matter what you try, every thought seems to return to eating, weight and your body image.

Feelings of shame and being out of control can hijack your life, making it challenging to create meaningful connections with others, pursue your passions, or enjoy your daily life.

You’re likely exhausted from this battle.

However, the fact that you're reading these words shows there's a part of you that wonders what life might look like if you were free from disordered eating. The problem is you don't know where to start.

Therapy can be a crucial catalyst towards the life of freedom you deserve. You need a compassionate and skilled therapist who can help you overcome your issues with disordered eating once and for all.

You may be experiencing:

✶ The inability to control your eating; you have feelings of shame and guilt, and constantly criticize yourself.

✶ Intrusive or preoccupying thoughts about food, weight, or your body that interfere with daily life.

✶ Struggling with low self-esteem and body image challenges that impact your relationships and self-concept.

✶ Difficulty recognizing or trusting your body's sense of hunger and fullness and attending to your body's needs

✶ Feeling disconnected from your body or struggling with physical discomfort related to eating

  • Narrative therapy helps you see your life and experiences from a new perspective.

During therapy, we'll explore the stories you tell about yourself as well as the stories that have been imposed upon you by others and the culture at large.

Together, we'll reshape those stories in a more life-giving and empowering way. We'll separate your struggles from who you are and focus on your strengths and ability to overcome them.

Doing this lets you find new possibilities and paths for your future, helping you feel more in control and confident. You can reconnect with or discover your authentic self and envision a life beyond disordered eating.

As we progress in our therapeutic journey, you can experience profound benefits:

✶ Liberation from the preoccupying, overwhelming thoughts about food and your body

✶ A more peaceful, flexible relationship with eating that allows for greater enjoyment and nourishment

✶ Improved body image and self-esteem, fostering a sense of self-worth for who you are rather than how you look

✶ Enhanced awareness of the emotional challenges that may underly your disordered eating behaviours and the development of alternative coping strategies

✶ The development of self-compassionate methods for managing stress and difficult emotions

✶ A stronger sense of identity and purpose, separate from disordered eating

✶ Increased energy and mental space for relationships, hobbies, and personal growth

✶ Greater comfort in your body, including an improved understanding of hunger, fullness, and your unique sensory world

  • Holistic and Trauma-Informed Care for Disordered Eating: Compassionate Therapy Informed by Healthcare Experience

As your therapist, I bring a unique blend of personal insight, professional expertise, and genuine compassion to our work together.

My background as a registered nurse gives me a valuable understanding of the physiology underlying disordered eating and knowledge of other health conditions and medications.

Additionally, my experience in psychiatric and medical settings has given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of mental health challenges, the shortcomings of institutional healthcare services, and the role trauma plays in the development of disordered eating.

I offer practical support in navigating a healthcare system that too often imposes shame and stigma on people's bodies.

In our sessions, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where all parts of your experience are welcome. I believe in your inherent wisdom and will work collaboratively with you to uncover your strengths and preferred ways of being. My approach is flexible and tailored to your unique needs.

I'm attuned to the needs of neurodiverse individuals and those who may have felt misunderstood or alienated by previous treatment experiences. I also honour various identities, such as race, gender, sexual orientation, age, and disability, that impact our experiences of food and our bodies, and this awareness is central to the way I practice.

My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are while gently exploring possibilities for change.
